Edakkal Hermitage Resort has 6 types of accommodation Edakkal - This cottage has been named after the Edakkal caves, Wayanad, that comprise of a unique form of pre – historic pictographic etchings, Altamira - has been named after the famous cave site in Spain that boasts of Paleolithic cave paintings, which date back to 30,000BC, Lascaux - This cottage that commands an uninterrupted and majestic view of the valley, derives its name from the most famous pre- historic cave site in the world that houses paintings dating back to 15000BC, Chauvet - Located right next to cottage Lascaux, sitting comfortably over a large rock is the cottage called Chauvet, which is another cave site of pre – historic repute in the south of France, Kapova - is a two bed-roomed cottage separated from the rest of the resort and perched on the edge of a cliff. It is named after a pre- historic cave site of repute in Russia. & Tree House

FACILITIES
Edakkal Hermitage Resort offers an information centre, camping facilities and cottage accommodation. Other facilities include a little restaurant that serves traditional Malayali cuisine, a shop of souvenirs and books, and an open-air theatre for cultural and heritage events. Also organize trips to other interesting places in and around Wayanad like the Muthanga wild life sanctuary, nature reserves, water falls, historic relics and ancient temples.
LOCATION
The Edakkal caves are situated on the western side of Ambukuthimala, hill twelve kilometers south-west of the town of Sultan’s Battery, and about six kilometers east of Ambalawayal in the Wayanad District of Kerala. |
