At Old Magazine House there is 2 types of accommodation "Ethnic Bamboo Huts" with mud plaster. Built on stilts with split-level interiors. The construction is rugged and made in the local style with sleeping facility for 3 to 5 people and a full-fledged attached bathroom for each hut. Hot water is available according to timings. These huts are located on slope, overlooking the thickly forested hill ranges.
The dormitory has semi-private cubicles, sleeping 4 people in each on teak wood bunk beds. The dormitory can accommodate 24 people. There are 4 common bathrooms and toilets in this facility.
The accommodations have basic electric lighting an ethereal sight at night, illuminate the paths. The whole theme is "to be part of nature yet not compromise on the essential needs". Privacy of individuals is recognized and respected.

Dining is arranged on a large terrace above the Magazine House, with plenty of space for casual movement. The furniture is all rustic and made of solid wood, with your convenience and taste in mind. One can also relax on the low cushioned seating along the sides of the parapet at the terrace and gaze at the starry night sky whilst listening to the hooting of the owl. Cooking is done in the kitchen below and quickly brought up piping-hot through a spiral staircase. For needs like tea, real south Indian Coffee, toast, eggs, snacks, etc, there is the service counter at the side of dinning area.
There is also an option to relax and dine under a big tree nearby in easy-chairs around a camp-fire at night.

For the adventure sport buffs, the camp offers a host of activities such as White Water Rafting on Kali River, Kayaking, Mountain Biking, Trekking & Jungle Safaris. |
 |
The camp is surrounded by some of the finest moist deciduous forests. These forests support a fine assortment of wildlife. Though sighting of large mammals is infrequent, the occasional Sambar, Wild Dog, Malabar Giant Squirrel, and the Flying Squirrel are seen. However, the lack of mammal sighting is more than compensated by the plethora of birds that are seen here. Even while being in the camp one can see endemics like the Malabar Grey Hornbill and the Malabar Pied Hornbill let alone the flycatchers, orioles, babblers and the Shama. Besides these, the Flying Lizard or the Draco is also frequently seen in these forests. For those interested in lesser fauna, there is plenty of interesting things around to see and learn. |
