Water Woods - |
for that is what it is! Nestled on the banks of the Kabini River and sandwiched between two of southern India's famous National Parks - Nagarahole and Bandipur. Water Woods is a wildlife resort easily accesible from Bangalore, a mere 4 hours by road. Owned and run by a family who love wildlife, Nagarahole is one of the best-managed national parks in India, making it the pride of the Karnataka forest department. A model of conservation management for the country and stradled by a huge swath of water, the Kabini river - Nagarahole stretches over 642 sq.kms and is home to tiger, panther, gaur, elephants, bear, deer, wild boar, wild dog and many birds. The park has some three thousand elephants, making sightings very common. Here one has the best chance of spotting the tiger in India. Water Woods is deeply committed to conservation of wildlife and the forests, and we do hope that all our guests will enjoy and respect the environment as we do.
