![]() On the banks of the River Tungabhadra is Hampi, an erstwhile seat of power and capital of the once mighty Vijayanagar Empire. Ruins of a lost empire and monuments that are still standing are a mute testimony of an era bygone. Musical pillars and the stone chariot at the Vittala Temple Complex and the renowned Virupaksha Temple that dominates the sky scape are some highlights of this rock-faced site where even stones spawn stories. |

Season |
|
The resort is open throughout the year. July to March is the best time, as the weather is pleasant and a good time to spot wildlife. Sloth bears can be sighted across the year. Summers can be hot. After the monsoons, the bouldered landscape and the paddy fields are awash with green. November to February is the peak season. | |
